When Elizabeth and Ethan asked, innocently, “what are the chances you’d like to help us absolutely transform a handful of kitchens for ‘Who’s Afraid of a Cheap Old House?’,” AjMadison answered simply, “we’re in. Hands-Down the “Cutest Kitchen Ever”
We couldn’t resist a SMEG retro-inspired moment in the kitchen of Alison’s completely revived Queen Anne in Menands, NY. But we’re no one-trick pony, and neither is AjMadison. Their inventory is massive, with so many styles to complement whatever your kitchen design story might be.
Homeowner Alison called her kitchen, with SMEG refrigerator, range and dishwasher, “the cutest kitchen I’ve ever seen.”
From Black Hole to Kitchen Goals!
In Cristiana and Nick’s church-turned-home, there had never been a kitchen. The grandeur of the space and the niche anchoring the kitchen helped inform the design team’s selection: SMEG’s contemporary Portofino line for refrigerator, range and dishwasher.
“Tears don’t lie.” The emotional reaction from the homeowners confirms that this kitchen not only met but exceeded expectations.
Sleek and White Retro Style
In Troy, NY, Vanessa and Dan’s kitchen featured an incredible detail: original tile! The beauty and simplicity of this historical feature was a jumping off point for the kitchen redo. Of course the Cheap Old Houses team was thrilled to have another opportunity to feature SMEG’s whimsical vintage-style refrigerator and dishwasher.
“This is the fanciest oven we’ve ever had!” Dan shared with amazement as he and Vanessa saw their new kitchen for the first time.
Craftsman Kitchen Transformation
The kitchen has always been the heart of Nur and Ali’s home in Queens, NY, so with their move to Albany, the Cheap Old Houses team knew there was no question they had to create a space that would celebrate the historic house’s style while feeling like a true home for the family. AjMadison’s recommendation: the beautiful Café line from GE, including range, refrigerator and dishwasher.
“I can’t explain to you how much I love this kitchen,” homeowner Nur shares as she recovers from the incredible reveal.
Butler’s Pantry Bonus!
Enrique’s reaction when he and wife Meagan finally saw their new kitchen? “I’m blown away, to be honest.” The SMEG retro fridge—full-size in the main kitchen and mini in the butler’s pantry!—and the stunning Bertazzoni range came together for a kitchen that, as Elizabeth shared, “felt like it was just always a part of the house.”
